About Mark A. Roth, PhD

Mark A. Roth earned his doctorate from Wingate University in North Carolina, where he conducted his groundbreaking research on the efficacy of disparate pedagogies for online education.  Mark also has an MBA from Texas A&M University in Corporate Finance and Arbitrage.  Dr. Roth currently works at the Clemson University Research Foundation, where he is the Associate Director of Business Development.  Mark’s duties at CURF surround the commercialization of Clemson University’s incredible and varied research. Dr. Roth came to CURF from Florence-Darlington Technical College, where he was the Vice President of Workforce Development and Continuing Education.

Mark is a serial entrepreneur, having started or been a principal member of fourteen businesses.  Mark has raised over a billion dollars to support these businesses and has taken three enterprises to the public markets.

Mark enjoys scuba diving and playing terrible golf when he is not working.

Mark is a decorated U.S. Army veteran.
