Chris G. Neeley, a true South Carolinian, has an extensive history of serving both his state and country in capacities that closely align with the heart of the tire and automotive manufacturing industry.
His journey in public service began under former Governor Carroll A. Campbell, Jr., witnessing firsthand the foundational steps of South Carolina's ascent as an automotive manufacturing leader with the landmark establishment of BMW in the upstate.
A seasoned advocate in public policy and government relations, Chris's corporate experience with companies such as Walmart and Reynolds American has provided him with a nuanced understanding of the intricate relationship between industry and regulatory frameworks.
His dedication to national service is evidenced by his 20+ year military career, particularly as a civil affairs officer in Afghanistan, where he contributed to the rebuilding of local economies and educational systems.
Following his active military service, Chris’s leadership extended to education as he took the helm at the Meyer Center and now leads the South Carolina Public Charter School District. His efforts culminated in the development of the Workforce Centers of Excellence, directly addressing the skill-set needs of industries including EV and advanced manufacturing.
As the former Chairman of the President's Committee for People with Intellectual Disabilities, Chris advocated for the integration and empowerment of individuals with disabilities in the workforce, coinciding with an era of record employment among this demographic.
